The Park
Hairston Park is a multi-faceted recreational park located at 889 South Hairston Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30088. It is home to many native birds, plants, and wildlife. Located just east of the city of Atlanta, this park attracts visitors of all ages with its stationary fitness equipment, inviting playground, swinging benches, and nature trails.
At Hairston Park, everyone is welcome.
Our plans create lovely paths to take us around both lakes, through the natural areas and connecting nearby communities.
Below are plans for a path that will connect to the Community/Senior Center that is going to be built on the north end of the park near Elam Road.
Starting from the heart of the park, the path will wind its way around the picturesque lakes, allowing visitors to appreciate the serene beauty of the water and observe the native birds and wildlife that inhabit the area. Lush vegetation and carefully maintained landscapes will flank the path, creating a soothing and refreshing ambiance.
As visitors continue along the path, they will venture into the natural areas of the park. These areas will be preserved and protected, providing a sanctuary for local flora and fauna. Interpretive signage and educational materials may be placed strategically along the path, offering insightful information about the park’s ecology and the importance of environmental conservation.
The path will then extend towards the northern section of the park, leading visitors towards the forthcoming Community/Senior Center. This new facility will serve as a hub for community engagement, recreational activities, and social gatherings. The path’s seamless integration with the center will ensure easy access for park visitors, encouraging them to participate in the various programs and events held there.
Additionally, the path will serve as a means of connecting the surrounding communities to Hairston Park. It will act as a link between neighborhoods, promoting a sense of unity and encouraging active and healthy lifestyles among residents.
Overall, the planned path at Hairston Park will contribute to the park’s charm and functionality. By seamlessly integrating with the natural environment, it will provide a delightful journey for visitors, while also fostering community connections and facilitating access to the upcoming Community/Senior Center.
